PE, Music, Art, Library and Technology
Readers Workshop
Mini-lesson based on a skill or strategy, independent reading time and reflection
Writers Workshop
Mini-lesson based in a variety of lessons, independent writing time and reflection
Guided Reading GroupsAll students are in small reading groups for 25 minutes
Word/Letter Study
Phonemic
awareness skills (rhyming, blending sounds. etc.), letter names and
sounds, sight words and word level skills within text
Snack and RecessSnack and free time on the playground
Math
Number sense, measurement, counting and problem solving using manipulatives and the Investigations Math Program
Social Skills/PBS (Positive Behavior Support)Children learn how to be part of a community of learners and friends
Choice Time
Students make a plan for the social and creative play in the classroom
Choices include: puppet theater, store, kitchen, computer, blocks, Legos, sensory table, art center, etc.
